Kissing Jesus' Feet

Bernard of Clarvaux says in “Talks on the Song of Solomon,” when speaking about Jesus’ feet:

“We may label one foot ‘mercy’ and the other foot ‘judgment.’ It is with these feet that He comes into His lover’s souls. You can tell when this has happened to someone.  You can see Jesus’ footprints.  One foot’s impression is ‘fear,’ the other is ‘hope.’ 

“Both feet are important.  Don’t ignore either.  When you are troubled by your sin and fear God’s judgment, you have kissed the foot of judgment.  When you consider God’s love and hope to receive forgiveness, you have kissed the foot of mercy. It is a mistake to consdier one and not the other. If you consider judgment only, you will slip into depression.  If you pin all your hope on God’s mercy you will not be as secure as you think.”

Two weeks ago Jessica started her first blog.  5 days ago, she birthed our 5th child.  Today she posted a new blog about home organization.  I couldn't have said it any better than one of our Facebook friends Carl, "So what do you do in your spare time?" 

So I'm inspired, hence my own blog.  I tried this before on Wordpress, but found the free features limited and confusing.  Hopefuly I can keep this up on Blogspot.

My goal with this blog is to write more than just the 140 characters that Twitter allows, but not much more.  So if you like short blogs, hopefully I'll deliver.
